As part of PASCAL's Learning Cities Networks Rolling Workshop Series on Social Inclusion, an event concerned with the Smart Campus and Inclusion was held at the University of Glasgow on 18th September 2015. A group of some 30 people from within the university and the wider city attended the event.
The Bristol Learning City Partnership will shortly be holding a workshop which is part of the PASCAL's Learning City Network series of inclusion workshops . The workshop is taking place at the St Pauls Learning and Family Centre, Grosvenor Road, St Pauls, Bristol BS2 8XJ on 12th November from 9.30 – 12.30.
Wednesday 21st October saw the launch of The European Digital City Index (EDCi) - an index which describes how well different European cities support digital entrepreneurship. It was produced as part of the European Digital Forum, which exists to support digital entrepreneurship and digital startups across Europe.

PASCAL has taken a close interest in ways of building learning communities in Africa that fit African conditions, including ways of connecting urban and rural learning. Various innovations have been brought to light in this work including the concept of rural learning ecologies.
On September 28-30, 2015, a delegation from the PASCAL International Observatory attended the UNESCO Second International Conference on Learning Cities in Mexico City.
A highlight of the UNESCO 2nd International Conference on Learning Cities in Mexico City was the conferring of UNESCO Learning City Awards to twelve cities who have demonstrated how they are implementing the Key Features of Learning Cities to improve the quality of people’s lives.
