The SUEUAA (Strengthening the Urban Engagement of Universities in Africa and Asia) project held its final partner meeting on 8-9 May, 2019 at the University of Zimbabwe, to discuss final outputs and reports for the project. Partners were also given a tour of the facilities at the University of Zimbabwe and met with a number of academics including the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr Oswell Hapanyengwi.

The ALADIN Online Alert is a joint ALADIN initiative, produced bimonthly by the UIL Library and CDÉACF, with input from additional ALADIN members from all over the world. Its goal is to share recent online and full-text information and documents in the area of adult and lifelong learning.

This paper, La contribución de las universidades al desarrollo económico y social, recently published as a blog item from Fundación CYD, Spain, may be of interest to subscribers involved with the contribution of universities to cities and regions; an area that PASCAL itself still works in in various ways including in our work with global south partners in SUEUAA and the work we highlighted last week in Taiwan, which is part of a larger project in Hong Kong, Scotland and Italy.

PASCAL was delighted to be hosted on March 11^th by the Speaker of Hsinchu City Council in Taiwan, Hsiu-Jui Hsu at his offices. Professors Michael Osborne and Roberta Piazza were able to discuss the outcomes of a recent study, using PASCAL tools, led by Eugenia Chang, Principal of Datong Community College and Marten Ma of Yuanpei, University of Medical Technology concerning the contribution of that university to the development of the city.
