Inclusion is a major theme within the PASCAL world and a series within the Learning City Networks (LCN) program.  Over the past year, activities as part of this Inclusion series have been held in the cities of Townsville, Glasgow, Bristol, Melbourne and now Brisbane.  The topics have ranged across local government development, smart campuses to supporting young people and improving mental health through community learning.

We are currently involved in a project called DISCUSS (see http://www.discuss-community.eu), which is supported by PASCAL about the development of communities of practice in lifelong learning. We know that many PASCAL subscribers have had many years of experience in such communities and wonder if some of you would be willing to write a short blog (just one page of response only is needed) about some of your experiences in the context of projects in the field of lifelong learning.

This handbook identifies principles and policy mechanisms to advance community-based learning for sustainable development, based on the commitments endorsed by the participants of the Kominkan-CLC International Conference on Education for Sustainable Development, which was held in Okayama City, Japan, in October 2014.
