How cultural heritage is preserved and enhanced is a major factor defining Europe's identity and its place in the world. Many jobs are also created by the management and promotion of cultural heritage and heritage contributes to sustainable growth and social cohesion. PASCAL, working in cooperation with the European Museums Academy (EMA), is set to make an input to a new project known as SOPHIA which is focussing on heritage and its impact on society.  

What is happening around lifelong learning these days? How are countries making lifelong learning a reality? What are the latest developments in policy and practice? This is issue No 14, 16 September 2019, of the UIL Lifelong Learning Alert.

This Programme is aimed at promoting learning for all, as well as the concept of "learning city" in different contexts and at any age through the involvement of various organizations in the learning processes, the creation of adult education centers, expanding the range of services for vulnerable groups, creating new opportunities for learning at work, etc.
