PASCAL - EMA join forces in Östersund, Sweden to explore the relationship between culture, heritage, museums and the wider engagement with new groups

The Spring conference of the European Museum Academy (EMA) took place at the JAMTLI Foundation, Östersund, Sweden from 6-8 February 2019.

The conference also hosted the Kenneth Hudson Seminar, a joint PASCAL - EMA initiative. The theme of the seminar was on cultural policy and literacy development and represent a follow on from an earlier seminar held in Aarhus, Denmark in September 2018.

PASCAL 2016 in Glasgow, 3-5 June, Strand 2: Cultural policies for cities that are cohesive and sustainable

PASCAL has taken a close interest in the role of cultural policies and institutions in building cohesive and sustainable Learning Cities with a rich quality of life since the 10th PASCAL International Conference in Ostersund on the subject Heritage, regional development, and social cohesion. When the Learning Cities Networks (LCN) program was established in 2014 a Cultural Policies Network was established as one of the five Networks to carry on this interest.

Adult education in museums, art galleries and libraries - special issue of International Journal of Lifelong Education

Professor Darlene Clover will be editing a special edition of the International Journal of Lifelong Education to be published in Autumn 2017, entitled, Adult education in museums, art galleries and libraries.

Appropriate papers presented at the PASCAL conference in Catania will be considered in fully developed form for this special issue.
