PASCAL associates, including from key cities in its Learning Cities Network, and Centre for Sustainable, Healthy, Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods collaborator were very pleased on 19 May 2021 to be able to make a contribution to a one-week series of events (see attached programme) organised by the University of Derby in the UK around GCRF issues. Shipi Roy, Mike Osborne, Vincent Manirakiza and Pierre Claver together with Sebutege Ange (Mayor of Huye) all made contributions to a workshop entitled, Learning Cities in development and sustainable recovery: International experiences and the Derby Learning City Campaign chaired by Peter Dewhurst, Director of Strategic Projects, University of Derby.

The combination of a global north perspective considering the situation of the cities of Derby and Swansea in the UK, and the a global south take on learning cities focused on developments in Khulna, Dacca, Kigali and Huye was particular valuable to the global audience that attended the event.
