Shilpi Roy

Dr Shilpi Roy is an Associate Professor of Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh. Her research interests include planning policy and strategy, equity planning, urban regeneration, urban design and application of various tools for evaluation research.
Shilipi is currently the In-Country Lead and Co-investigator of two international projects, including the Centre for Sustainable, Healthy and Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods (SHLC) project funded by UKRI.
Besides her teaching role, her consultancies with international and national organisations focused on the preparation of the conceptual master plan for regeneration, improvement of primary health care, environmental health and livelihood opportunities for marginalised communities, safe cities for women and justice for children. Her recent research activities include investigation of urban policies and neighbourhood factors shaping urbanisation and development practices concerning sustainable, healthy, and learning cities and neighbourhoods in Bangladesh.
She has multiple publications in high impact journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. Shilpi, with extensive research experiences, has made a significant impact on several urban sectors and contributed to building capacity among the young researchers.
