Anne Badenhorst, is the Research Director at the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI). She leads the annual funding round of AHURI's National Housing Research Program (NHRP) which is listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register and disburses approximately $3 million per annum. Anne is the editor of the AHURI journal. The journal series is double blind peer reviewed and published online.

In her role at AHURI Anne works with university partners and the policy and practice communities to deliver high quality, policy relevant research supporting policy development. Anne is an expert facilitator supporting the development of research topics, the dissemination of research results and the take up research into policy development through seminars, focused workshops and roundtables.

Anne is also Deputy Chair of the Northern Melbourne Regional Development Australia Committee (NMRDA). The NMRDA committee builds partnerships between all levels of government, local businesses, community groups and key regional stakeholders to provide strategic and targeted responses to economic, environmental and social issues affecting Melbourne’s North. The Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a partnership between the Australian, state and territory and local governments to support the growth and development of Australia's regions.

Anne has over fifteen years senior management experience in the education sector having led and facilitated university community and industry engagement strategy, the management of partnerships, commercial activity, projects and policy research. She has an ongoing interest in the way policy shapes the city and achieves better social, economic, environmental and equity outcomes. Anne supported the establishment of PASCAL and was a contributing author to the Victoria as a Learning Region Case Study at the OECD Victorian Government Learning Cities & Regions Conference in 2002 in Melbourne.
