Six Lectureships in Education Studies at the University of Glasgow

The School of Education at the University of Glasgow has just advertised six lectureships in Education Studies. The listings from jobs.ac.uk are shown below, and all who are suitable qualified are encouraged to apply. Posts are available on both the Research and Teaching track (four posts) and the Learning, Teaching and Scholarship track (two posts).

Lecture on University Regional and Community Engagement to Iranian senior policymakers - Michael Osborne - 12 June 2024

I am happy to report that on June 12, 2024, Professor Michael Osborne, Director of PASCAL (Europe) delivered a brilliant lecture on University Regional and Community Engagement to Iranian senior policymakers at the National Institute for Higher Education Planning and Research, under the Ministry of Sciences, Research and Technology. The audience also included senior researchers and PhD students in higher education.

Local Adult Education Policy II (LEAPII) - Green Skills and Learning Cities

PASCAL subscribers may be interested in the LEAPS II project funded by the European Commission. Sustainable lifestyles, adapting to climate change, caring for the environment, means that citizens need to have the right skills and need to apply them in everyday life. The LEAP II project addresses these needs – creates learning opportunities that develop these(green) skills, hence the people are better equipped to fight the climate change.

Age-friendly cities and lifelong learning

My article, Age-friendly cities and lifelong learning, may interest PASCAL subscribers especially those interest in learning cities. There is a huge gap between rhetoric at the macro/global level and what can happen at the local level of practice related to the World Health Organisation's (WHO) framework for Age-friendly cities. Many cities make no contribution at all to such intiatives such is the dire state of public finances.
