UNESCO launches Trash Hack campaign

On 19 September for World Cleanup Day, UNESCO launched the Trash Hack campaign to encourage young people to learn about sustainability through tackling waste.
Each year the world generates over 2 billion tonnes of waste. The Trash Hack promotes simple actions young people can take to combat waste, use that action as an entry point to understanding more about waste and celebrating and sharing their own Trash Hacks on social media with #TrashHack. UNESCO launches consultation to measure progress in Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education
UNESCO has launched the Seventh Consultation on the implementation of the 1974 Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms for the period 2017-2020.

UNFCCC & UNESCO Dialogue on Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE)
Since its launch in June, international and regional online events have brought together Ministries of Education, Ministries of the Environment and relevant stakeholders from all over the world to discuss the role of education, training, public awareness, public participation, public access to information and international cooperation to counter Climate Change and its effects.
The next regional dialogue (Africa and Middle East) will take place in October.

UNESCO Associated Schools National Coordinators share experiences in Education for Sustainable Development
UNESCO’s Associated Schools Network (ASPnet) are successfully integrating sustainable development into government policy, and scaling up programmes to reach more schools, according to new results mapping from 37 countries.
Education for Sustainable Development is at the heart of ASPnet's work, and National Coordinators are sharing experiences on how their programmes have been upscaled and worked into policy.
