Future meetings/events were noted:

The Pascal International Conference will not be held this year but has been postponed for a face-to-face conference in Taiwan in 2022. There may be some further webinars.

The Global Learning Festival, hosted by Wyndham, Australia, is scheduled for 8^th-11^th November 2021 https://www.globallearningfestival.com/

Derby Learning City: “Learning Cities in development and sustainable recovery: International experiences and the Derby Learning City Campaign” will be on 19th May 2021. Professor Mike Osborne is the keynote speaker and Judith and Shilpi are doing a joint presentation on ‘Learning, Inclusion and Skills.’

Judith James introduced the theme for discussion this meeting:

Preparation of an event for the Global learning Festival, 8^th-11^th November.

The group discussed the contribution to the Global Learning Festival and agreed to prepare:

There will be pre-recorded interviews on the 4 themes of the network. We suggested leaders for each theme who will arrange the interviews. There will be three interviews taking twenty minutes in total for each theme:

• Kristiina Erkkilä will lead on the ‘Entrepreneurial Learning in Learning Cities’ theme
•  Michelle Murphy will lead on ‘Reimagining the future of not-working in Learning Cities’.
• We will ask Palmira and Robertus Jucevicienne if they would like to lead ‘Reimagining the Future of Work in Learning Cities’
• Chris Shepherd and Annie Tubadji will lead the theme ‘Responding to unexpected external events: developing resilience in Learning Cities’.   
• All members of the network will be interviewed for at least one theme and will form the panel of interviewees for “Question Time”.
• Annie Tubadji has offered to record the interviews so that there is consistency. Swansea University Media Suite, through Annie, will edit the completed videos to create the final version.
• A document for downloading with findings in brief and an appendix with links to useful references. Annie has volunteered to collate this- any relevant suggestions please post to her.

The presentation will be introduced by Rob who will explain the Pascal Learning City Networks (5 minutes). Judith will introduce this network ‘Reimagining Inclusive Economic Futures (5 minutes). Professor Mike Osborne will make the closing remarks (10 minutes).

Therefore, the whole event will last for 100 minutes in total.

Jac suggested that the pre-recorded event would be available throughout the first two days of the Festival, with the question time panel on the Wednesday. We will find a time that is possible for all panel members to attend. The question-and-answer session will be recorded.

The COP 26 will be held in Glasgow this autumn and Glasgow University will be holding a simultaneous event on the Cop 26 themes. There is a possibility that our completed event may be offered to Glasgow University as one of these events. It is important the sustainability is discussed in each of the theme interviews.

It was also agreed that we would work towards the development of a publication around our 4 themes, after the Global learning Festival.  

Next Meeting topic: Identification of three interviewees for each theme.

We are aware the people will be on holiday for some of these dates, but to progress the work we have decided to hold these meetings throughout the summer, for attendance if possible.
