We are delighted to announce that Wales’s premier scholarly body, the Learned Society of Wales, has awarded Dr Annie Tubadji with the Dillwyn Medal.

The mission of the Learned Society is to promote excellence and scholarship, inspire learning and benefit the nation. The Dillwyn medal acknowledges the very best in achievement by Early Career Researchers with a link to Wales.

Annie is a Senior Lecturer in Economics in Swansea University and represents Swansea University in the PASCAL International Observatory. She is a major contributor to the PASCAL Learning Cities Networks group, “Reimagining Inclusive Economic Futures”.

Annie received her medal for her research into inequality, mental health and polarisation during the Covid 19 pandemic, which has gained international recognition. Her research focus is on culture-based development, and she was delighted to receive the Dillwyn medal in particular, because the Dillwyn family’s work combined intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence. Annie’s research investigates how emotion is translated to the future of culture.
