Stimson, Senior Academic Advisor (and former Director) of the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN), a pioneering figure in the urban research field who has played a leading role in major developments in urban research infrastructure in Australia.
In his talk "Big Data, Smart Cities and Urban Research Infrastructure" Prof. Stimson will provide an overview of developments in information technologies and the opportunities presented by these innovations, focusing on how building new research infrastructures are starting to revolutionise the way urban and regional research might be facilitated through a number of initiatives occurring around the world, including AURIN as an example. The seminar will be followed by a drinks and canapés reception in the atrium.
