Tracy Rogers is a 2015-2016 Kettering Research Exchange Fellow for the Centre for P-20 Engagement which is a Division of Outreach, Engagement, and Regional Development with Northern Illinois University. She  joined the Center for Governmental Studies (CGS) at the University in April 2007 as a Research Associate in the areas of economic and community development and association management.  She currently serves as Co-Director for the North American Center of the PASCAL International Observatory and is responsible for community engagement, international conference planning, as well as project development for regional initiatives and opportunities for growth.  Prior to serving in her current capacity, Tracy was the Executive Director of the Illinois Geographic Information Association (ILGISA), a statewide association with over 650 members, the Secretariat for the Illinois Intergovernmental Personal Benefit Cooperative (IPBC) and as the Executive Director to the Illinois chapter of the American Public Works Employees (APWA).  In addition to the her work with PASCAL, Tracy is involved with strategic planning, consultation on governance and board administration, conference planning, membership recruitment and website management for both public and non-for-profit organizations.  

 

Prior to joining the Center, Tracy had spent over ten year’s working with the National Security Agency, and U.S. State Department as a research analyst and linguist while stationed in Africa and South America.

Tracy has been active in a several non-for-profit organizations that focus on issues related to the development of literacy, education, and economic opportunities for women and children’s within the United States and countries abroad.  She has actively served on the various Boards in numerous capacities and continues to act as an advisor in issues of succession planning, governance, fiscal responsibility, and strategic planning.

 Tracy is currently a doctoral candidate focusing on women, leadership, and developing nations.  She has a master’s degree in adult and continuing higher education from Northern Illinois University, and a dual bachelor’s degree in international relations and communications from the University of Illinois, Champaign.
