George Osborne

George served for 22years as an officer in the Australian Army, including a 2-year appointment in Hawaii in 1998/99 as a Strategic Planner with the US Marines, for which he was awarded the US Meritorious Service Medal. During his military career George undertook training in the UK and USA, and in turn delivered training in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
George left the Army in 2001 to take up an appointment as Manager Training and Development with the Country Fire Authority with responsibility for approx 3000 volunteers and 100 staff. In 2006 he became the General Manager of Training and Community Services with BEST Community Development, a multi award winning not for profit organisation.
In January 2008 George commenced as Manager Learning Community with Hume City Council in Melbourne. In this role George was responsible for the Hume Libraries, the Hume Global Learning Centre (conference centre and training rooms) and was Executive Officer for the renowned Hume Global Learning Village network of more than 800 members.
In January 2012 George became the Manager Econimic Development for Hume City Council, including a focus on local jobs for local people and establishing the Hume Jobs and Skills Task Force. He has previously operated his own consultancy for Leadership and Teamwork solutions and has lectured in Strategic Planning and Leadership.
