The 6th Annual Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation – Resilient Cities 2015 co-organized by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, the World Mayors Council on Climate Change and the City of Bonn, Germany, is taking place on 8-10 June 2015 in Bonn, Germany.

New report - Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Integration: Achieving a better balance between the economic, social and environmental dimensions

It has been mandated that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) currently under negotiation at the United Nations should achieve an appropriate balance between the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development.

As a timely contribution to the post-2015 development agenda negotiations taking place at UN Headquarters in New York this week, Stakeholder Forum, in a study commissioned by the German Council for Sustainable Development, has examined integration in the proposed SDGs.

The details on the 4th European Fair of Education for Sustainable Development, to be held in Hamburg on  9-11 September 2015 are now available. The event´s theme is "“Implementing Sustainable Development in European Cities and Regions”, and the call for papers is open until the 30th January 2015.

Gold Standard Sustainable Cities Framework - Open for Consultation

We are seeking input and comments on the framework for our Gold Standard Sustainable Cities Programme, through which cities can develop, audit and verify urban programmes in order to catalyse and scale up currently missing investment.

Sustainable City Index 2.0

Some of you may already have noticed that an update of the Sustainable City Index has recently been published. This new version, SCI 2.0, is further developed, improved and extended in comparison with the first edition. It now consists of 24 indicators, including important indicators for Energy, CO2 emissions and Mobility. The index comprises all 403 municipalities in The Netherlands.

Launch of Urban Solutions #5

This special issue of Urban Solutions focuses on the World Cities Summit in June 2014 and its theme "liveable and Sustainable Cities: Common challenges, shared Solutions".

The Summit is where cities will look at the state of urban challenges today and identify principles of shared solutions applicable to cities spanning the range of development, socio-economic and political contexts.
