Some of you may already have noticed that an update of the Sustainable City Index has recently been published. This new version, SCI 2.0, is further developed, improved and extended in comparison with the first edition. It now consists of 24 indicators, including important indicators for Energy, CO2 emissions and Mobility. The index comprises all 403 municipalities in The Netherlands.

This new version will certainly not be the last and final one. The SCI, like each self-respecting index, will be continuously further developed and improved. We call for your suggestions in this respect.

The SCI 2.0 has received again a warm and overwhelming welcome in The Netherlands, just like the first edition. We look forward to cooperate with partners abroad to develop a tailor made city index for other countries as well.
