PASCAL Director, Professor Michael Osborne was one of the keynote speakers at a conference hosted by Deutscher Volkshochschul-Verband e.V International (DVVI) Belarus in Minsk on 5/6 December 2019. The event celebrated the 10th anniversary of DVV in Belarus, and also coincided with the 50th anniversary of DVVI itself and the 100th anniversary of Volkshochschulen in Germany as was recounted by another keynote speaker, Heribert Hinzen, formerly Director of DVVI, and also a PASCAL Associate.

Mike gave an overview to the development of learning cities globally based in his recent paper with Sergio Hernandez for the 4th UNESCO Global Learning Cities conference.

Another of the other highlights of the conference was a presentation by Dr Sung Lee on Learning city development in Korea, a copy of which is featured below and attached along with the agenda for the conference.

Dr Lee has been developing strong links between Korea, and Belarus, Moldova and the Ukraine; a delegate of some 33 from Korea had recently visited the three countries to explored learning city development.
