Re-energising Cities forum in Quito
Meeting every 20 years, the Habitat Conference will reinvigorate the global commitment to sustainable urbanisation, focusing on the implementation of a New Urban Agenda. Within this context and for the first time ever, the Conference will discuss the proliferation of renewable energy as a means to achieve a sustainable urban future and combat climate change.
TheRE-energising Cities forum will capitalise on this unique gathering of stakeholders to drive the next step-change in the transition to a sustainable urban energy future. The forum will showcase the innovative and transformative ways that cities can benefit from falling costs and contribute to the ongoing energy transition. It will share cutting-edge information, highlight examples of successful policy frameworks and other best practice, and discuss priority areas for action to capitalise on the opportunities renewables present in three key sectors: transport, buildings and power generation. http://re-energising.org/
