Placemaking Leadership Forum - Countdown to Vancouver!
In case you missed the headlines in previous newsletters, the Placemaking Leadership Forum—a conference where practitioners and policy makers will come together to chart the future of placemaking around the world—is taking place in Vancouver from September 14-17th.
With less than 30 days left until the event, we urge you to register as soon as possible!
The Placemaking Leadership Forum, part of Placemaking Week, emphasizes putting ideas into practice, and will focus on the research and policy priorities that will enable the implementation of community-led placemaking worldwide.
Schedule
The conference schedule for the Placemaking Leadership Forum includes of a range of optional workshops and events on Wednesday the 14th, the Future of Places Summit on Thursday the 15th, and the heart of the Placemaking Leadership Forum with a full day of plenaries and breakout sessions on Friday the 16th. Each night features a party or reception where attendees can meet, mingle and explore different places around Vancouver. For the full schedule of events, click here.
Speakers
We recently announced a diverse range of international speakers, which includes Bruce Katz from the Brookings Institute, Setha Low from the City University of New York, Lucinda Hartley of CoDesign Studio in Melbourne, Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana of Cape Town Partnership, George Ferguson of Bristol First and Mayor Paul Soglin from the City of Madison. There are many more confirmed, and many more still to come!
Location
The Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel in the heart of Vancouver will be the main location for all Placemaking Leadership Forum events unless noted otherwise. A range of workshops, tours and activities will take place around Vancouver, and details on how to attend and/or register for them will soon be provided to registrants via email.
