Taipei has been at the forefront of Learning City development and are advancing EcCoWell2 objectives.  Datong Community College has been a leader in this.  Initially, President, Dr Eugenia Chang, and her staff worked with their district Rice Festival organisers to develop a range of complimentary learning experiences for citizens.  Recently, they have developed local actions through activities, lectures and workshops to extend and enhance learning in neighbourhoods, including 2 main initiatives:

• Eco-friendly farm experience for the next generation and knowledge of food traceability;
• Fostering entrepreneurship for all.

Community Colleges spearhead Learning City achievements and recently celebrated their 20^th anniversary with a range of displays, performances and activities around the following themes of citizen life: “Senior Learning, Learning toward Happiness,” “Sustainable Eco-Green City,” “Ready for Entrepreneurship, Ready for Community Revitalization,” “Care for Love, Care in Action,” and “Participatory Democracy Promotion.”
