Report on the 1st PASCAL Learning Cities Networks (LCN) rolling workshop - Östersund

Please find featured below a report on the first “rolling workshop” of the Harnessing Cultural Policies Network set up under the PASCAL Learning Cities Networks (LCN) program.

This program has been implemented by the PASCAL International Observatory to examine key issues in building sustainable learning cities for the future. The next workshop will be held in Glasgow on 3 March – full details are found here.

You are invited to participate in a day of presentations and dialogue exploring: Cultural Policies and Activities for Sustainable Learning Cities, Communities, and Regions. Hosted by Glasgow Life, the workshop will discuss the impact and follow up on cultural aspects of the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow in 2014 and access and participation policies to progress the democratisation of culture in Glasgow’s development.

The City of Melton, Victoria, Australia Joins UNESCO's Global Network of Learning Cities

Peter Blunden, Lifelong Learning Coordinator,  Melton City Council reports that the City of Melton has joined UNESCO's Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC). 

Connecting Cities and Universities at Strategic Frontiers - PASCAL 2015 conference in Catania 7-9 October

We are very pleased to announce that the next PASCAL conference will be hosted from 7-9 October 2015 by the University of Catania in Italy with the title, Connecting Cities and Universities at Strategic Frontiers, and under the co-ordination of PASCAL Associate Director in Europe, Professor Roberta Piazza.
