We are very pleased that the PASCAL Observatory and its Learning Cities Networks, with their European centre hosted by CR&DALL at the University of Glasgow, are partners in the 2021 Global Learning Festival being organised from 8-11 November by the cities of Wyndham and Melton in Australia. Many of the member cities of the LCN are making contributions, including Medellin, Taipei, Wolverhampton and of course Wyndham itself.

PASCAL itself is contributing a session ‘Reimagining the Future of Work and Developing Resilience in Learning Cities’ on 10 November from 1900-2000 AEDT within which Professor Michael Osborne, Director of CR&DALL and of PASCAL Europe, will introduce participants to 12 pre-recorded videos along the themes of: Entrepreneurial Learning; Reimagining the Future of Work in Learning Cities; Reimagining the Future of Not-Working in Learning Cities and Responding to Unexpected External Events; Developing Resilience in Learning Cities. You can join a live panel of interviewees for “Question Time”.

Another session hosted by the Australian Learning Communities Network, ‘Universities as Partners in Learning Cities and Communities on Tuesday 9 November from 1930-2100 AEDT offers contributions from LCN partner in Australia, Benin and the UK.

The GCRF Centre for Sustainable, Healthy and Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods is represented by SHLC Bangladesh at the University of Khulna in a session ‘Co-understanding SDGs in Bangladeshi neighbourhoods : The potentials of creative learning tools for recognising urban challenges’ on Monday 8 November from 1100-1130 IST.

Many of the offers in this rich set of events have direct relevance to issues that will be discussed at COP26, and represent another set of community voices.
