Knowledge for Change Mentor Training Programme

Our close friends and colleagues, Rajesh Tandon and Budd Hall oversee the Knowledge for Change Mentor Training Programme (MTP) in Community-based research.  This programme offers learning opportunities for university and community knowledge workers to take a 21-week course in teaching Community Based Research, and has been operating for five years.

Rwandan cities of Kigali and Huye join PASCAL Learning Cities Networks (LCN)

We are delighted to announce that two cities in Rwanda, Kigali and Huye, have become members of PASCAL’s Learning Cities Networks (LCN). Both cities are participants in the Centre for Sustainable, Healthy and Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods (SHLC) and it is a pleasure to be able to welcome them to PASCAL.

I’m delighted to report following my attendance and keynote presentation at the conference “Education for Values: Continuity and Context” in Moldova on April 27-28, 2018, PASCAL has been able to re-inforce its co-operation with DVV whose offices in Eastern Europe were represented strongly. This week I met Oleg Smirnov, Director, Representative office DVV International in Ukraine to discuss further co-operation during his visit to Scotland.

Seminars at Shanghai Municipal Institute for Lifelong Learning - 17 March 2018

PASCAL Director for Europe, Mike Osborne, and PASCAL Associate Director for Europe, Roberta Piazza, were delighted to be hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Institute for Lifelong Learning (SMILE) and its director Professor Jian Huang from 15-18 March 2018. During that time, they discussed a number of areas of potential collaboration including assessment of the regional engagement role of Technical and Vocational Education Colleges in Shanghai.

The Glen Postle Intergenerational Mentoring Hub

I’m delighted to have been able to have visited PASCAL Associate Glen Postle and see the Glen Postle Intergenerational Mentoring Hub at the Flexischool in Toowoomba. Glen has been working intensively in the development of the school over the past 20 years and continues to do so.
