The Adult Higher Education Alliance (AHEA), USA, announces its annual conference for 8-9 March 2018, Orlando, Florida with the theme: "Quality of Life in Adult Learning".  The purpose of this Alliance is to help institutions of higher education develop and sustain learning environments and programs suitable for adults.

It might be out of Australia, but here is a workforce survey that can apply to all non-profits across the world, encompassing the organisations, employees and volunteers. This study is lead by the "Learning for Purpose" division of the Centre for Social Impact, University of Western Australia.

Africa's Rapid Urbanisation - Africa's Cities : Opening Doors to the World

The World Bank is investing in the development of Africa's cities to overcome the lack of access to housing, services, and jobs.  In the report: "Africa's Cities: Opening Doors to the World" [featured below], addressing the crowded informal settlements and little infrastructure is seen through the improvement of safe water, sanitation and hygiene.  With a population of 1 billion predicted by 2040 and housing that currently costs 55% more than in other regions of the world, senior economist and co-author of the report states the situations is "dangerous".

Recently in Zadar, Croatia, I was given a marvellous booklet on the renovation and tourist "valorization" of the cultural and historical complex: The Rector's Palace.  On its solid foundation, for centuries it has been the site of culture, prestige and power.
